In the first week of April, one of the Tibetain Mongolian monk named Arjia Rinpoche who lives in Bloomington, Indiana State came to visit to the Stanford University which is located in San Francisco area, California State where I live. Arjia Rinpoche also one of the important political and spiritual leader for Tibetan people. I went his public talk at the Stanford University and meet him and shake him and so on. I also talk to him little bit about my story how/ why I came to US. Than, he invited me to visit his temple, called “Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center” in Bloomington, Indiana State, while His Holiness is coming to his temple on May from 11 to 14, so I went to Bloomington for San Francisco to meet His Holiness.

His Holiness and I met everyday May 12 to 14, the first day I met at the Indiana University at His public talk. As soon as he saw me, he came and ask to me “Which country you come from?” My answer was ” I come from Burma and I said very honor to see your Holiness I am always admire you since I hard your name and your hard working for peace for world’s people.”. then, he talk to the audience that “last few years, the two Burmese monks want to meet me, so i met them, so they told me that Dalia Lama doesn’t follow the “Vinaya” which is rules for the Theravada Buddhist Monks.”
I though why did Burmese monks say like that? They have different culture and different practice. Every language, every culture, every tradition is beautiful and lovely. Don’t have to say that. Also, I though that many people from around the world became Buddhism because of the Dalia Lama. In fact, in the United States, 90% of people think that if they see Buddhist monks or nans and if they hear about Buddhism Oh! this is the Tibetan monk or nan. Hundred of people asked me ” Are you from Tibet? when I go to school or if I go somewhere. I said “No, I am from Burma, but they don’t even know what Burmese is.

On May 13, I had a great opportunity to meet and speak about 10-minute with His Holiness again. Both His Holiness and I were vary happy to meet each other. Then, I told him little bit about why or how I came to US he was so surprised and he said “Oh! This is so said, I knew that I wrote several request lattes to the Burmese military, How about Aung San Suu Kyi?” I also said that “She is still under house arrest, I am very honor to meet you and I am really appreciated that you are supporting for the people who are very hungry for democracy. I am really admire you since I hard your name and hard about you” then, he said “we all monk should stand for all people to get peace, justice, and freedom”.
