YANGON, Myanmar — Myanmar’s first election in two decades will be held Nov. 7, the junta announced Friday, setting the wheels in motion for a long-awaited event that critics have dismissed as a sham designed to cement military rule.
The brief announcement was carried on state TV and radio, marking the first time the junta has given a date for the country’s first polls since 1990.
“Multiparty general elections for the country’s parliament will be held on Sunday Nov. 7,” according to the brief announcement from the Election Commission, which also called on political parties to submit their candidate lists between Aug. 16 and Aug. 30.

There you go. All Burmese must prepare themselves to boycott the election. According to this news, it will be on 07 November 2010. You have to note in your mind to boycott the fake election. Everything they tried to make official civilised nice announcement in the day light but behind the scenes are beyond your believe of mother of all lies and tricks, bribes, coercions, and intimidations. Pre-elections movements of Than Shwe`s appointed election commission and his set-up party are prove there to denounce the irrelevant election. If people remember the spirit of 8888, the wish of Martyrs, then do the right thing. Do not disown yourselves from the fallen soldiers and freedom fighters. NLD had guided you to boycott the election. THE COUNTRY NEED YOU TO STAND UP AND BE COUNTED FOR BOYCOTT.

Every government fear is voters’ apathy. To legitimate the election process, the most important things is participation of all stakeholders and voters` votes on the Election Day. If people are standing in long lines waiting to vote at polling station, that government is very successful. The country is very happy and normal. In Burma, it is different story. The election is devoid of inclusiveness of all stake holders. The main opposition party, the NLD is effectively side-lined by the Junta. So do the ethnic parties. Other opposition parties who dare to play according to Junta`s rules are subjected to various obstacles in doing normal election process. None of routine electioneering had happened for oppositions. The junta intentionally imposed financial burden on oppositions making them impossible to field enough candidates in constituencies. To the contrary of this miseries for oppositions, Junta`s party is electioneering by means of bribes, illicit rewards, coercing, and intimidations. One of the minister said in meeting that they are of ready-made government. Another one not happy with this transgression further said that military will stage the coup if junta does not win election.
No participation of opposition+ Election= means no problem for Junta to declare 99% win. Shame on them. Let us see
Participation of some parties+ some votes on election day+ Election= means you install the fully legitimised military regime in Burma. Remember what Ne Win did in 1974. He declared Socialist Union of Burma with your votes. Now if you do not boycott the election, with the blessing of voters and some opposition parties, the Junta will form the legitimate military government and military parliament according to 7-step program of Than Shwe. Every vote you caste will be changed all into military vote. The junta have to do it by ballot so that it is civilised manner and it prevents them from staging military coup. So if you remember and love the fallen and imprisoned leaders, you got to BOYCOTT.
Nil Voters on election day+ Election+ some opposition parties= Failed election. How can the junta declare victory if there is no vote to count? This would be great theft of the century. None to count and no election is result. Let Than Shwe get temper Tantrum and let his ghosts generals stage the coup on him. What will the ordinary soldiers do in this day-light robbery? What will Useless Nations of UN do in this no voter’s scenario? Will it change the stance of China on Burma? Let them think about it. We have the duty to do our bit. COUNTRY NEEDs YOU TO BOYCOTT ELECTION. STAND UP AND BE COUNTED FOR BOYCOTT CAMPAIGN.
