    Actually, you are a “winner.” I don’t know why you would be so modest as to pick up this self-derogatory name.

    In western countries, it doesn’t pay to be modest. Most western people put up an even bolder or impressive front than they really are.

    In this environment, they would think that you have even less, if you are humble or modest.
