A set of special stamps based on the theme of “Year of the Dragon” will be released on January 14, 2012.

“Year of the Dragon” is the first special stamp issue of the fourth Lunar New Year Animal series by Hong Kong Post. Almighty and commanding respect, the dragon is not only a totem for superior status, but also for the Chinese race. Featuring different representations of the dragon and a silk stamp sheetlet, this cheerful set is filled with Chinese elements perfect for this auspicious season.

Hong Kong Post to issue special stamps for Year of Dragon – Xinhua | English.news.cn

The photo taken on Jan. 12, 2012 shows a first day cover affixed with a silk stamp sheetlet based on the Year of Dragon during a media conference in Hong Kong, south China. It is the first time for Hong Kong Post to release a stamp sheetlet made in Italian real silk. Hong Kong Post will issue special stamps for the Year of Dragon on Jan. 14, 2012.
