PareByokeFebruary 3, 20119min2320

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sends best wishes.

Lunar New Year 2011

http://www.state.gov/secretary/rm/2011/02/155896.htm

I join President Obama and the American people in offering our warm wishes for good health, good fortune, peace and prosperity to everyone around the world celebrating the Lunar New Year.

All over the globe, families are coming together to recognize and celebrate the importance of their heritage. In the United States our Asian-American communities are contributing in ways large and small to our society. President Obama and I are committed to the people of the Asia-Pacific Region – committed to strengthening our ties with traditional allies, to making new friends, and working to forge constructive relationships throughout the region.

I wish all those traveling long distances to spend this festive time with friends and family a safe journey. Let us continue to work together in this New Year to deepen our friendships and make progress on the challenges we all face.
