We ask for your assistance in identifying talented young men and women either now completing their undergraduate programs or who have recently graduated (up to seven years) who have career interests in international security, diplomacy and foreign policy and, to that end, may wish to enter a generously endowed, fully-funded Master’s degree program in international security designed for them.
In addition to receiving full tuition scholarships, Fellows will participate in a two-quarter seminar in grand strategy taught by Josef Korbel School faculty, visiting scholars and practitioners which is now being developed. The seminar allows students to analyze historical cases of deep security challenges faced by national leaders under widely varying geographic, technological, political, economic and cultural circumstances and to assess, in light of imagined alternatives, the efficiency and morality of the paths chosen.
The seminar will conclude by bring the results of historical analysis and assessment to bear on contemporary strategic challenges. A wide variety of lectures, symposiums and special events sponsored by the Sié Center and the Josef Korbel School will be available to Sié Fellows along with other programs and events on the campus.
To round out their degree, Sié Fellows will select electives from the Josef Korbel School’s curriculum in economic and social development, conflict resolution, global political economy, humanitarian assistance, global health policy and human rights, taught by a faculty of more than 35 experts and practitioners.
All applicants applying to the MA in International Security will be considered for the Sié Fellowship. No additional application is required. Priority deadline for autumn admission is January 15th and it is highly recommended that applications are completed on or before that date.
