အင်္ဂလိပ်သဒ္ဒါတတ်ကျွမ်းလိုသော် (Learning English Grammar – 19) – ပါမောက္ခမျိုးကျော်မြင့်

ယခင်လတွေက Adjective Clause နဲ့ adverb clause လေးတွေအကြောင်း အတော်အသင့်ဖော်ပြခဲ့ပြီးပါပြီ။ ယခုလမှာတော့ noun clauses လေးတွေအကြောင်း ဖော်ပြလိုပါ တယ်။noun clause လို့ခေါ်ရတာက ဒီစကားစုလေးတွေမှာ ကြိယာလည်းပါတယ်။ သာမာန်အားဖြင့် noun နာမ်လေးတွေနဲ့သာသုံးလို့ရတဲ့ ကတ္တားsubject နေရာနဲ့ ကံobject နေရာတို့မှာ သုံးလို့ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။noun clause အမျိုးအစား ၃ မျိုးကို ဖော်ပြလိုပါတယ်။လူသိများတဲ့ that clause လို့ခေါ်တဲ့ That နဲ့စတဲ့ စကားစုလေးတွေရှိသလို wh-clause လို့ခေါ်တဲ့ wh-question တနည်းအားဖြင့် what, when, where,why,how စတဲ့ wh-question လေးတွေနဲ့စတဲ့ စကားစုလေးတွေရယ်၊ နောက်ဆုံး ။ သို့မဟုတ် whether နဲ့စတဲ့ noun clause ရယ်လို့ ၃ မျိုးဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ wh-question ဆိုတာကတော့ အင်္ဂလိပ်စာလေ့လာသူများနဲ့ ရင်းနှီးပြီးသားဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ what, when , where ,how, why စသည်တို့နှင့် စတဲ့ မေးခွန်းလေးများဖြစ်ကြ ပါတယ်။

ဒီမေးခွန်းလေးတွေကို noun clause အဖြစ် ပြောင်းလဲသုံးစွဲလိုလျှင် question ဘဝမှ statement ဘဝသို့ ပြောင်းလဲပေးလိုက်ရပါတယ်။

ဖေါ်ပြပါ နမူနာဝါကျလေးများ၌ Be verb ကိုကတ္တားရဲ့နောက်ကို အသာလေးပို့ပေးလိုက်ရုံပါဘဲ။ သို့သော် do, does, did ပါတဲ့ ဝါကျမှာတော့ do, does, did ကိုလုံးဝဖြုတ်ချလိုက်ပြီးပူး တွဲရှိနေတဲ့ ကြိယာကို လိုအပ်လျှင်လိုအပ်သလို singular form သို့မဟုတ် past form သို့ပြောင်းပေးရပါတယ်။ နမူနာ #၄ နှင့် နမူနာ #၅ တို့ကို သေချာကြည့်လိုက်ပါ။ Noun Clause လေးတွေကို ဖန်တီးယူတတ်ပြီဆိုကြပါစို့.။ နောက်တဆင့်အနေဖြင့် ဝါကျ၌ထည့်၍သုံးစွဲတတ်ရန်လိုပါသည်။ ဖေါ်ပြပါ noun clause လေးများကို ဝါကျ၌ကတ္တား subject နေရာ၌ ၎င်းကံ object နေရာ၌၎င်း ထား၍သုံးစွဲနိုင်ပါသည်။ ဦးစွာပထမ ကတ္တား subject နေရာ၌ထား၍ သုံးစွဲကြည့်ကြရအောင်။
ဥပမာ – What time it is is hard to know.
When the general is going to tell the truth is a mystery.
Why the general is so rich remains a good question.
Where he lives is public knowledge.

အထက်ပါဝါကျများ၌ Noun Clause အားလုံးသည် ကတ္တား subject နေရာ၌ ရှိနေကြပြီး is, remains, can seem စသည့် ကြိယာများနှင့်တွဲ၍ သုံးထားသည်ကို တွေ့ရှိရပါ သည်။အထူးသဖြင့် ပထမဆုံးဝါကျ၌ is is ဟူ၍ is ၂ လုံးကို ကပ်လျှက်တွေ့ရှိသည့်အခါ သဒ္ဒါမကျွမ်းကျင်သူများအနေနှင့် မှားများနေသလားဟု ထင်စရာပင်ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ Noun Clause များကို ကံ object ၏နေရာ၌၎င်း သုံးစွဲနိုင်ပါသေးသည်။ ဥပမာ –
I don’t know what time it is.
I wonder when the general is going to tell the truth.
I want to know why the general is so rich.
I am curious as to where he lives.
I know how Buddhists pray.
အထက်ပါဝါကျများ၌ noun clause လေးများကို ကြိယာများ၏ အနောက်ဖက် ကံ object နေရာ၌ တွေ့ရှိရပါသည်။ I don’t know တလုံးသိလျှင် noun clause လေးများကို သုံး၍ရပါပြီ။ ဥပမာ –
– I don’t know how many students were killed.
I don’t know why soldiers hate Aung San Su Kyi.
I don’t know what will happen.
Wh – Noun clause လေးများကို သုံးတတ်သွားပြီဆိုလျှင် yes / no question များမှလာသော if/whether တို့နှင့်စတင်သည့် noun clause လေးများကို လေ့လာကြရအောင်။ ဦးစွာပထမ yes/no question လေးများကို ရေးသားရပါသည်။ ဥပမာ –
Is the general a killer?
Are the soldiers sorry for their actions?
Is he working for the good of the country?
Did the soldiers kill the peaceful protesters?
Do the people want the military to serve the people?
ဖေါ်ပြပါ Questions များကို statement အဖြစ်သို့ ပြောင်းလဲလိုက်ရပါသည်။ မှတ်မိကြပါလိမ့်မည်၊ question များကို statement အဖြစ်သို့ ပြောင်းလိုလျှင် Be ကြိယာကို ကတ္တား၏နောက်သို့ ပြန်ပို့ပေးလိုက်ရုံသာ လိုပါသည်။ do, does, did ကိုတော့ ဖြုတ်ပစ်လိုက်ပြီး ပူးတွဲနေသည့် ကြိယာကို လိုအပ်လျှင်လိုအပ်သလို singular form သို့မဟုတ် past form သို့ ပြောင်းပေးရပါသည်။
ဥပမာ – The general is a killer.
The soldiers are sorry for their actions.
He is working for the good of the country.
The soldiers killed the peaceful protesters.
The people want the military to serve the people.
နောက်ဆုံးအဆင့်၌ ထို noun clause လေးများကို ဝါကျ၌ ကံ object ၏နေရာ၌ထား၍ သုံးစွဲလို့ရပါပြီ။ ဥပမာ –
I want to know if the general is a killer.
I wonder whether the soldiers are sorry for their actions or nor.
I don’t know if he is working for the good of the country.
We have no idea whether the soldiers killed the peaceful protesters.
I believe the people want the military to serve the people.
